  At almost age 60 I had never heard of the more than 80-year-old Krispy Kreme Doughnuts from Winston-Salem, North Carolina until very recently when my sweetheart took me to purchase a mixed box of one dozen delicious examples. I was so fascinated-and-suprprised at seeing a shop where the doughnuts are actually fried from scratch right on site in an extremely sanitary stainless steel setting and in full view of the hungry patrons. Back at my room I really enjoyed a heavenly custard filled chocolate treat here before bedtime. I looked forward to trying another doughnut in the morning with a hot cup of coffee and I savored the experience. Last night I returned to Krispy Kreme Doughnuts with my love and actually observed a batch of doughnuts shaped, fried, glazed and scrutinized by a sorter. Only the premium examples completed the journey to a watering mouth. So again, recently Mary Anne introduced me to an east coast based doughnut shop chain with super service and eager-helpful employees that could certainly benefit greatly from some advertising here out west. I would encourage those who have not ever heard of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts to visit and try a doughnut there soon and see the efficient operation as I now have. You will be glad you did because this is certainly an impressive first class establishment that will likely spread like wildfire up-and-down the coast once the big secret is out. But this said, from what I saw the shop needs more customers discovering a life-changing wow moment like I did on the memorable recent night. Now I am really afraid I am going to become more obese after getting reintroduced to the joy of doughnuts at an inviting business like Krispy Kreme Doughnuts where I am going to try the coffee next. What a great dreamy place the world cannot do without. Someday there will be a line well down the sidewalk for Krispy Kreme Doughnuts!!!
